Louët wheels treadle lightly, are low maintenance and nearly adjustment free and can be modified with accessories for the expert spinner.Technically all Louet models are the same. Each wheel has a single belt bobbin drive with an adjustable flyer brake to regulate the tension. The flexible belts are made of polyurethane and never have to be adjusted.
Ratios
All bobbins have a sheave with three settings on one side that can be used to obtain three different spinning ratios. They are: 1:5.5 for slow spinning and heavy yarn; 1:7.5 for medium yarn; and, 1:10.5 for fast spinning and fine yarn. (S45 ratios are: 7:1, 12:1 and 20:1) (S95/96 ratios are 6:1, 8.5:1 and 13:1)
The fly wheels of all Louet models are 50 cm ( 20″) in diameter (except for the S45 and the S95/ S96). They rotate on a maintenance free, lubricated for life ball bearing pack to ensure excellent spinning ability by allowing them to turn freely and quitely. The same maintenance free ball bearing is used at the footman connection. (Absolutely no lubrication is necessary for the bearings to work correctly)
Louet S95/ S96 Retail $675/ $695
Victoria (S95/S96): The Victoria on the first picture is the beech version (S95). Folded, the Victoria can stand upright taking up little space, like the oak model (S96) shown in the second picture. The travelling bag is included and can be used as a handbag, a shoulder bag or a backpack.

Louet S45 Retail $895
S45: A new remarkable Louët spinning wheel, visually as well as technically. The design challenge for this wheel was “compact and easy to handle”. Yes we also would like a 1:20 ratio for this wheel. Much faster than Louet’s regular wheels, as well as most wheels on the market. Since a large wheel, needed for a fast ratio, would not give a compact construction, Louet choose for an acceleration wheel. The higher speed of the small flywheel makes the S45 treadle easily, just like you are used to with Louet’s other wheels. Louet made this wheel out of Hard Maple, and finished it with a medium gloss water based lacquer. By relocating the polyurethane drive band on the back of the wheel you can change the ratio’s: 1:7, 1:12, 1:20
